BOB GALINDO REMEMBERS .......
The trip to Europe was fantastic....(OCT
2000)......
One afternoon in Paris, I was playing my acoustic guitar in
a very intimate
urban plaza off two intersecting alleys. I was playing mainly
in the American
folk style, and I was also plucking many intrumentals as well.
being a big city,
I was totally ignored by the parisians. They've seen it all.
I was at the
bottom of the barrel, I had run out of tunes. It was time to
put the guitar away
and go eat some pastry. so, I pulled a very old jimmy reed tune
out of the hat.
I was playing mindlessly and not really paying attention to what
I was doing.
That is when I noticed that I was finally playing something the
french wanted to
hear. People turned their heads as they walked by so they could
hear better.
They wanted to hear this pfunkie muzik bloues amercain. I was
really quite
surprised. So I kicked their ass just a little bit. When I was
done, I put the
guitar back in the bag, walked down the street, and got myself
a cup of french
coffee.
